Crash Tests Results--
How Safe is Your Favorite Vehicle?
What do vehicle crash-test ratings and
exclusive resorts have in common? A 5-star rating means
you’ve chosen the best— or in terms of crash-tests—
the safest features to protect you in an accident. (Safety
authorities estimate that occupants in a 5-star-rated
vehicle have 10% or less chance of serious injury.)
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
www.nhtsa.gov
and many other safety authorities run crash tests every
year to determine how well vehicles protect occupants
in frontal and side collisions. Your vehicle’s crash-test
report card is a good indicator of how it will perform
in an accident, which in turn, is a good indicator of
how much you can save when you buy your auto insurance
coverage.
When you're car shopping, make sure to find out how well
the vehicle you're interested in holds up in frontal-and
side-collision simulations. Good performance in these
crash tests is typically a prominent selling feature.
